The Las Vegas Raiders visit Arrowhead Stadium this Sunday to take on the undefeated Chiefs at 1pm EST.
The Raiders are coming off of back to back losses, falling to 2-2, and are now 2 games behind the division leading Chiefs. Meanwhile, the reigning Super Bowl champions are continuing their dream season and are finding ways to win every game they’re a part of.
The Raiders could get an extremely important game back in the AFC West on Sunday, however they will have to pull off the biggest upset of the week in order to do so. Winning against Kansas City is hard enough, doing so in their home stadium is one of the tallest tasks you can give to a football team.
Can the Raiders Offense Outduel the Chiefs
This game is all but a slam dunk for the Chiefs, the Raiders have done horribly against the Chiefs in recent years and haven’t beaten them since 2017 by 1 point. Las Vegas has among the weakest defenses in the league, and going up against the Chief’s juggernaut offense, this is probably the worst matchup one could think of.
The path to pulling off the upset is to simply put it all in the hands of Derek Carr and Josh Jacobs. Carr has had a banner start to the season, throwing for over 1,000 yards, 8 TDs, and no picks at all so far.
Points have not been the problem for the Raiders this year, even against a solid defense like the Chiefs I don’t doubt they can score. The problem will be outscoring Patrick Mahomes and company in their home stadium.
Let the MVP Do His Thing
Andy Reid and Pat Mahomes should have no trouble at all carving up the Raiders lackluster defense.
There will be plenty of running plays from the Chiefs as they are going up against one of the lowest ranking run defenses in the league. Not to mention, they will likely be in the lead for most of the game. Look out for a big game from the rookie Clyde Edwards-Helaire, who has had a great season operating as the lead back for the Chiefs.
Although, assuming he is needed, Patrick Mahomes and his star-studded cast of receivers should have no trouble finding openings in the backfield. The reigning MVP has looked nothing but stellar this season, throwing for over 1,100 yards and 11 TDs with no picks.
Controlling the game clock and keeping consistent pressure on the Raiders to score will be the keys to winning what most are calling an easy one for Kansas City.
Raiders/Chiefs Betting Lines
Most sportsbooks have the Chiefs favored by 11.5 points in this one, with the over/under at 55.5. If you care to bet the moneyline in this game, the Chiefs are -650 and the lunatic bet for the Raiders to win is +450.

This spread is a bit of a tough one to pick against, a 12 point win is a lot to ask for from any team, especially in a divisional game. However the Chiefs have a history of absolutely toasting the Raiders, and the last time these teams played in Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City won 40-9.
So I’m picking the Chiefs to cover the spread on this one, because they have all the momentum in the world while the Raiders have none. The boys in red had a knack for blowing out Oakland, and should have no trouble continuing to do so against Las Vegas.
