Indiana at Ohio State Betting Preview

Indiana at Ohio State betting

The Big Ten Conference remains the best league in the country, and one of the top teams in that conference is in action on Saturday morning. The Ohio State Buckeyes host the Indiana Hoosiers in what should be a terrific battle. Let’s take a deeper look at the Indiana at Ohio State betting matchup.

Indiana comes into this game with a 6-6 record in Big Ten Conference games, and an 11-8 record overall. The Hoosiers are trying to pull off a big upset in this game and also improve on their NCAA Tournament resume.

Ohio State has now won five straight games to improve their Big Ten Conference record to 10-4. The Buckeyes are now the number 4 ranked team in the country and have a legitimate chance to reach the Final Four in March.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are 6.5-point favorites over the Indiana Hoosiers on Saturday morning in this Big Ten showdown.

Indiana Inching Towards NCAA Tournament

Indiana needs to keep stacking wins to make a late push to the NCAA Tournament, but a recent upset of Iowa will help the cause. The Hoosiers have now won two straight games, but picking up their third in a row won’t be an easy task.

Indiana is scoring just over 72 points per game while allowing nearly 69 points per game on the defensive end of the floor. That doesn’t leave much margin for error, but the Hoosiers do have an All-American candidate to help carry the load.

Trayce Jackson-Davis is averaging 19.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game, and is one of the best players in the Big Ten. The Buckeyes will have plenty of defenders to throw at the star forward, but he is tough to stop.

Indiana is shooting around 35 percent from the three-point line, and that might be a cause for concern in this one. The Hoosiers will need to get hot from deep to knock off the mighty Buckeyes.

Ohio State Scoring Some Points

The Ohio State Buckeyes are scoring nearly 78 points per game, but they have seemed to improve as the season has gone along. The Buckeyes have two terrific interior scoring threats, but they have also been shooting the ball well of late.

E.J. Liddell leads the Buckeyes with 14.9 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, and he could easily make the First Team All-Big ten this season. Guard Duane Washington Jr. has chipped in with 14.8 points per game, and it has been his hot shooting that has sparked the Buckeyes.

This is a very veteran team at Ohio State, and that veteran presence has allowed them to navigate through the best conference in college basketball. The Buckeyes are also a solid defensive team, holding opponents to just 68 points per game.

There are simply no holes on this Ohio State team and it is one of the biggest reasons that they are pushing for a number 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament.

Indiana at Ohio State Betting Pick: Buckeyes Too Much For Hoosiers

Playing the early Saturday morning game could mean that both teams get off to slow starts, and that would actually be a good thing for Indiana. This could allow the Hoosiers to keep things close before Ohio State gets into a rhythm.

Eventually, the Buckeyes will wake up and they will play like the number four ranked team in the country. Ohio State needs another win to stay in the Big Ten title race, and that team will be focused.

Indiana has proven that it can hang with some of the top teams in the conference at home, but doing it on the road will be a different story. This game will be close for the first 30 minutes, but the Ohio State Buckeyes are simply on too big of a roll.

Look for Ohio State to wear down Indiana in the second half as they cruise to another victory. Bet the Ohio State Buckeyes -6.5 over the Indiana Hoosiers in this game.
