Bears vs Bengals Preview – NFL Week 2

Bears vs Bengals Preview

Welcome to our comprehensive take on Bears vs Bengals preview. Let’s roll!

The 0-1 Chicago Bears are set to host the 1-0 Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday and this is a very important game for the home team. Chicago can’t afford to start the season off with two straight losses while the Bengals are hoping to keep the momentum going.

Chicago suffered a loss to the Los Angeles Rams in Week 1, but that was a result that was expected. The Bears are hoping to be a playoff contender this season, but they must protect home field.

Cincinnati stunned the Minnesota Vikings at home in Week 1, and they did so by looking terrific on offense. The Bengals are not expected to be a threat in the AFC North, but this is a team that won’t be fun to play.

Bears Betting Preview: Defense Disappears in Week 1

The quarterback situation in Chicago has gotten much of the attention, but it was the defense that let them down in Week 1. Chicago gave up 395 yards of total offense to the Rams, and allowed Los Angeles to connect on a pair of deep touchdown passes.

Bears vs Bengals Preview

Quarterback Andy Dalton threw for just 206 yards, while rookie Justin Fields had a touchdown run in limited action. Running back David Montgomery was the real star for Chicago, racking up 108 yards on the ground.

This is a veteran group in Chicago, but the Bears were left searching for answers after the season opener.

Bengals Betting Preview: Burrow Guiding Bengals

Joe Burrow is the clear leader in Cincinnati and the second-year quarterback had 261 passing yards in the Week 1 win. Burrow is still trying to learn his way around the NFL, but he isn’t afraid to step up and make some big plays.

Running back Joe Mixon gives the Bengals plenty of balance on offense as he rushed for 127 yards in Week 1. The Bears do have a pretty good run defense and that could bog down the Bengals offensive attack on Sunday.

The defense is also a concern after allowing 24 points in Week 1. The Bengals were able to survive in that game, but they don’t want to make this a habit.

Bears vs Bengals Betting Odds, Analysis, Picks & Predictions

This game opened up as a 3.5-point spread for the Chicago Bears, but action on the underdog has dropped the line. Cincinnati still isn’t getting a ton of respect after a stunning Week 1 win over the Minnesota Vikings.

Playing in Soldier Field is always a difficult task for opponents, and that will definitely come into play in this game. Cincinnati still has to prove that it can win on the road, especially in a tough place like Chicago.

The Bears are going to get a much better performance from their defense in this game, and that will ultimately be the difference. Look for this game to be tight throughout, but a late score will allow the Bears to win and cover the slight 2.5-point spread.

  • Betting Midwest Top Pick: Chicago Bears -2.5
