Atlanta Falcons vs Green Bay Packers Betting Preview

Falcons

The winless Atlanta Falcons visit Lambeau Field for a Monday night matchup with the undefeated Green Bay Packers in the final game of the Week 4 NFL slate. This is the first meeting between the two teams since 2018, when the Packers won by two touchdowns, 34-20. Green Bay also leads the all-time series 18-16, which includes four postseason games.

Quinn-tessential

The Falcons had sizable leads against both the Cowboys and Bears, but collapsed in both to fall to 0-3 and ignite a hotter seat under head coach Dan Quinn. Both of Atlanta’s starting receivers in Julio Jones and Calvin Ridley are questionable heading into the Monday Night matchup, but have been trending in the right direction. Jones has been an all-world receiver for the majority of his career, but Ridley has stepped up as the number two in 2020, entering Week 4 with the second-most receiving yards in the entire NFL. Veteran quarterback Matt Ryan entered the week with the third most passing yards in the league.

Go Pack Go

The Packers, meanwhile, haven’t turned the ball over and have posted at least 35 points in all three of their games thus far, the first team in the history of the NFL to combine those accomplishments. They’ve also trailed in all three of their games, something that clearly hasn’t bothered the green and gold. Aaron Rodgers has thrown for 887 yards and 9 touchdowns to go along with 0 interceptions. Aaron Jones entered the week second in the league in rushing with 5 total touchdowns. The Packers will be without Allen Lazard, and Davante Adams is questionable, though they were 4-0 when he was out of the lineup a year ago.

Falcons/Packers Betting Lines

These two teams are 9-0 to the OVER in their last 9 combined, but you have to keep an eye on who plays and who doesn’t at receiver for both teams. Green Bay is rolling as Rodgers has returned to MVP form. The Falcons might be playing for Dan Quinn’s job and if they get the lead, they better not let off the gas pedal. It’s not popular, but since the Falcons are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 as an underdog on the road, we’ll ride with the Falcons trying to salvage their season.
